The Power and Potential of the PKM9D

The PKM-9D is a small yet powerful kiln, making it our smallest standard-order option. Despite its compact size, it packs a punch, reaching temperatures of 1850°F within 45 minutes. On the interior, it measures 8 1/4” wide, 4 1/2” high, and 9” deep, providing ample room for your blades or die cuts. This makes it ideal for workshops of all sizes.

The rugged construction, featuring a steel case painted in high-temperature black, or the optional color of your choice, ensures years of reliable operation. A built-in stand lifts the firing chamber safely off your work table, so no extra stand is needed.

The elements are mounted in recessed grooves machined into the firebrick. This groove protects the element for long life and low maintenance. Elements are simple to replace because they’re exposed rather than embedded.

Threading new elements -if needed- should not be difficult, following the instructions provided in the manual. Also, the temperature sensor (thermocouple) is sheathed for long life. The thermocouple wire is kept inside the control box for protection.

Personalize Your Workspace with Two Door Options

Understanding that every workspace has unique needs, the PKM-9D offers the flexibility of choosing between a convenient drop door or a side-swing door. Both options prioritize safety with a built-in safety switch that cuts power to the elements when opened.

The door, whether drop or side-swing, is mounted on a heavy-duty hinge shaft for smooth opening. Because of the rigid case and heavy hinge, the door is sturdy enough for years of faithful service.

The standard model comes with drop door. So, if you prefer a side-swing door, let us know when placing your order. The price of the furnace is the same as either door style.

Optional Gas Injection Flow Meter (Add-on)

For those seeking even greater control, the PKM-9D offers an optional gas injection flow meter as an add-on. This feature allows you to introduce inert gas into the furnace chamber, minimizing scaling on your blades and achieving a cleaner finish.
